Many medical professionals' associations are esteemed partners of the Patient Education Institute.

One partner of which we are particularly proud is CEMED Medical Education & Training Centre.

Established in 2007, CEMED's activities include:

• hands-on cadaver workshops;
• health science related & medical courses (lectures combined with practice, often in the form of hands-on workshops);
• organising conferences concerning novel, hi-tech technology used in modern medical practice.

The cadaver workshops are quite unique in this part of Europe and are a high quality educational experience, both for students as well as for experienced, practicing clinicians. The workshops give doctors an opportunity to practice surgical techniques on unembalmed specimens. We are certain that training on human tissues is the best way to prepare doctors for the situations they will encounter while working in the operating room. The experience is extremely instructional and cannot be compared to the level of skill one acquires during lectures or phantom workshops. The specimens that are used in the laboratory are tested for the presence of HIV, and hepatitis B and C viruses.

CEMED's training centre comprises 400 square metres of space imitating the operating theatre and its facilities.
